Testxx.Uncertain

Test Channel Data Uncertain / Operating Temperature Out of Range

Allen-Bradley · Compact 5000 Digital I/O Modules

What does Testxx.Uncertain mean?

This boolean tag indicates that the data for a test channel Testxx might be inaccurate, with an unknown degree of inaccuracy. A tag value of '1' is set when the module has reached a critical operating temperature or is operating higher than the acceptable temperature range.

Common Causes

  • Module operating temperature is at or above its critical threshold, potentially affecting sensor accuracy.
  • Module operating temperature is higher than the acceptable operating temperature, causing component stress.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the ambient temperature around the module is within the specified operating range (refer to module technical data for limits).

  2. 2

Ensure proper airflow around the module and remove any obstructions blocking ventilation to the module.

  3. 3

Allow the module to cool down naturally; the tag automatically resets to '0' once the over-temperature condition is removed.
