Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 520-series Adjustable Frequency
Control over the Modbus or DSI communication link has been interrupted, meaning the drive has lost communication with its master controller via the DSI port. This prevents remote commands and monitoring, potentially causing the drive to fault or transition to a safe state based on its parameter settings.
Click steps to track your progress.
Verify the integrity and secure connection of the DSI communication cable to the drive's T18, T19, T20 terminals and the master controller.
Confirm the master controller (PLC/HMI) is operational and actively sending/receiving data from the drive, checking its communication status.
Verify the drive's DSI communication parameters (P1-35 Baud Rate, P1-36 Node Address, P1-37 Data Format) match the master controller's settings.
Check for proper grounding and shielding of the DSI cable to mitigate electrical noise interference.
Ensure appropriate termination resistors are installed at both ends of the RS-485 bus (typically 120 ohms).
Temporarily connect a known good Modbus/DSI device or a PC with DSI software to the drive to isolate the fault to the drive or the network.
