F107

Replaced C-P

Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 520-series Adjustable Frequency

What does F107 mean?

The control module is unable to recognize the power module it is attached to, indicating a hardware failure or improper assembly after a module change. The drive cannot establish basic communication or identification with its power section, preventing startup.

Common Causes

  • The power module has been physically replaced, and the control module has not been properly initialized to recognize the new power module.
  • Data corruption in the control module's non-volatile memory regarding its last known power module ID.
  • The control module or power module has experienced an internal hardware failure preventing proper identification during startup.
  • Loose or intermittent connection between the control module and the new power module.
  • A significant difference in firmware versions or revisions between the control and power modules after a replacement.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. After replacing the power module, ensure the control module is fully seated and secured, then power cycle the drive (disconnecting all power for 60 seconds).

  2. 2

    2. Access the drive's parameter menu and execute the "Power Module Acknowledge" function (e.g., P0-50 = 1 to acknowledge a new power module ID).

  3. 3

    3. If available, try installing the original control module (if known good) onto the new power module to rule out control module failure.

  4. 4

    4. Inspect the interconnect pins between the control module and the power module for damage or contamination.

  5. 5

    5. Perform a complete parameter reset (e.g., P0-02 = 2) on the drive after replacing the power module, then reload parameters from a backup.
