Beckhoff · EL2904 TwinSAFE Fail-Safe Output Terminal
The internal temperature of the terminal has fallen below its specified operating range. This cold condition can negatively impact the performance, response time, and reliability of the internal electronics and overall safety functions. Continued operation outside the specified temperature range may lead to malfunction or damage to components.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Measure the ambient temperature inside the control cabinet using a calibrated thermometer. Ensure it is within the module's specified operating range (e.g., 0°C to 55°C).
2. Verify the proper functioning of cabinet heaters or environmental control systems. Check thermostat settings (e.g., P7-02 for minimum temperature threshold).
3. Adjust the direction or speed of any nearby cooling fans to prevent direct, excessive airflow onto the terminal module, especially in cold conditions.
4. Inspect the control cabinet for open vents, unsealed cable entries, or damaged gaskets that could allow cold air ingress. Seal any breaches.
5. If environmental conditions are confirmed within range, replace the terminal module as its internal temperature sensor or internal heating element (if present) may be faulty.
