Motor-derived parameters not transferred correctly to DSP

Danfoss · VLT AutomationDrive FC 301/302

What does 1793 mean?

Parameters calculated or derived for the motor were not successfully transferred to the digital signal processor. This can lead to incorrect motor control, poor performance, or instability.

Common Causes

  • Corruption of data during transmission from the main microcontroller to the DSP via an internal bus (e.g., SPI, I2C).
  • Intermittent communication link between the main control processor and the DSP.
  • Faulty memory block (SRAM or EEPROM) where motor identification parameters are stored.
  • Software bug in the motor parameter calculation or transfer routine.
  • Power transient affecting the integrity of the data transfer registers between modules.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Perform a full motor autotune (Automatic Motor Adaptation - AMA) via P1-20 (Motor adaptation) to re-identify motor parameters.

  2. 2

Verify the integrity of the motor's nameplate data entered in parameters P1-20 to P1-26.

  3. 3

Inspect the connection between the control board and any motor option cards for secure seating.

  4. 4

Attempt to manually input critical motor parameters (e.g., P1-20 Motor power, P1-22 Motor voltage) and save them.

  5. 5

Update the drive firmware to the latest available version to address potential software bugs related to parameter transfer.
