Power data not transferred correctly at power-up to DSP

Danfoss · VLT AutomationDrive FC 301/302

What does 1794 mean?

Essential power data failed to transfer correctly to the digital signal processor during drive power-up. This indicates a potential internal communication or data integrity issue that prevents proper initialization.

Common Causes

  • Corruption of stored power section parameters (e.g., voltage, current limits) in non-volatile memory.
  • Timing issue during the DSP boot sequence preventing proper data synchronization from the main processor.
  • Internal communication bus error between the power section measurement unit and the DSP.
  • Transient voltage dip on internal power rails during drive power-up, causing data integrity issues.
  • Faulty or degraded internal sensor (e.g., voltage or current transducer) providing incorrect power data at startup.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Power cycle the drive by disconnecting mains voltage (L1, L2, L3) for at least 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Verify the stability of the main DC link voltage at terminals DC+ and DC- during power-up using a multimeter.

  3. 3

Ensure the drive firmware is updated to the latest stable version.

  4. 4

Perform a factory reset via Parameter P14-22 (Reset options) set to 2 (Load LCP defaults) to clear corrupted data.

  5. 5

Inspect internal ribbon cables connecting the power board to the control board for secure connections and damage.
