92

No flow

Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive FC 102

What does 92 mean?

A no-flow condition has been detected in the system, and parameter 22-23 (No-Flow Function) is set to trigger an alarm. This indicates a critical deviation in the process, such as a pump running dry or a blocked pipe. Continued operation in a no-flow state can damage pumps or other system components.

Common Causes

  • The pump or fan system connected to the drive is running dry or without medium due to a closed valve or empty reservoir.
  • The flow sensor (e.g., connected to analog input terminal 53) has failed, is blocked, or is providing an incorrect low signal.
  • Parameter 22-23 (No-Flow Function) is incorrectly configured, setting the threshold too high or the delay too short.
  • A blockage or obstruction in the piping system prevents flow, even if the pump is running.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Visually inspect the process system (e.g., pump inlet/outlet, valves, reservoir level) for any obvious no-flow conditions.

  2. 2

    2. Verify the signal from the flow sensor at the drive's analog input (e.g., terminal 53) using a multimeter.

  3. 3

    3. Review and adjust parameter 22-23 (No-Flow Function) threshold and delay settings to suit the application's characteristics.

  4. 4

    4. Check for any physical blockages in the pipework or strainers upstream and downstream of the pump.
