What does SP0031 mean?

The spindle motor is detected to be in a locked or stalled condition, preventing rotation. This can be due to excessive mechanical load, a brake issue, or a fault in the motor itself.

Common Causes

  • Spindle motor is mechanically jammed or seized.
  • Excessive cutting forces are preventing rotation.
  • Amplifier command signal is not reaching the motor.
  • Low voltage supply to the motor windings.
