Over-heat of Control Module (ECM)

What does 9 mean?

The Control Module of the ECM has detected an abnormal temperature, indicating overheating. This can be caused by poor ventilation, excessive load, or a fault in the module itself.

Common Causes

  • The internal temperature of the control module exceeds its safe operating limit.
  • Inadequate cooling or ventilation of the control module enclosure.
  • Overload condition causing the module to generate excessive heat.
  • Fan failure within the control module or enclosure.
  • Ambient temperature is too high for the system's design.
