Cooling Fan Stop (Control Module) (ECM)

Fanuc · Alpha i Series AC Servo Motor and Spindle

What does A mean?

The cooling fan for the heat sink of the Control Module has stopped. This can lead to overheating of the Control Module and reduced operating life of its components. Note that even if ECM works continuously, the cooling fan should be exchanged early.

Common Causes

  • Current exceeds limits during regenerative braking.
  • Excessive back EMF from the motor during deceleration.
  • Braking resistor capacity is insufficient.
  • Incorrect regeneration control parameters.

Repair Steps & Checklist
