DS0300

APC ALARM: NEED REF RETURN

Fanuc · Series 0i-MODEL F Plus Parameter

What does DS0300 mean?

This alarm indicates that the machine position and the position on the absolute position detector have become uncorresponding. This typically occurs when parameters related to rotary axis B type (e.g., parameter No. 1869) are set or when bit 4 (APZx) of parameter No. 1815 (indicating correspondence) is set to 0. The uncorrespondence is reflected in bit 0 of diagnosis data No. 310 and requires re-establishing the reference.

Common Causes

  • The servo drive requires the home position to be re-established.
  • Loss of reference point for axis positioning.
  • Encoder index pulse not detected after power cycle.
  • Manual intervention or homing routine failure.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Establish the reference position again for the affected axis.

  2. 2

Check bit 4 (APZx) of parameter No. 1815 for the affected axis; it should be 0, indicating the need for a reference return.

  3. 3

Review diagnosis data No. 310, bit 0, to confirm the cause of uncorrespondence after parameter changes.
