Line Tracking Pulsecoder Backup Battery Low Voltage

What does SRVO-087 mean?

This alarm occurs if the voltage of the backup battery for the absolute position of the line tracking Pulsecoder is low. A low battery voltage can lead to unstable absolute position data or loss of data upon power cycle.

Common Causes

  • Backup battery voltage for the line tracking Pulsecoder absolute position is below operational threshold.
  • Degradation of the backup battery due to age or environmental factors.
  • Faulty battery charging circuit for the Pulsecoder backup.

Repair Steps & Checklist

    Measure backup battery voltage at terminal B1. Expected range is 3.0-3.6VDC.

  2. 2

    Verify battery charging circuit output voltage at terminal B2. Expected voltage should be stable.

  3. 3

    Replace the line tracking Pulsecoder backup battery if voltage is below 3.0VDC.

  4. 4

    Check connection integrity of battery terminals to the Pulsecoder.
