601 n AXIS: INV. RADIATOR FAN FAILURE

INVERTER RADIATOR FAN FAILURE

Fanuc · Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D Maintenance

What does 601 n AXIS: INV. RADIATOR FAN FAILURE mean?

This warning signal on the Fanuc Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D αi servo system indicates a failure of the inverter radiator fan. This condition (SVWRN4 and SVWRN1 active) will eventually lead to an inverter overheat alarm if the cooling issue persists.

Common Causes

  • Failure of the cooling fan responsible for the inverter's radiator.
  • Accumulation of dust or debris on the radiator fins or fan blades, impeding airflow.
  • Poor electrical connection or power supply to the radiator fan.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Visually inspect the inverter radiator fan and its associated radiator fins for any obstructions, debris, or accumulation of dirt.

  2. 2

Check the electrical connections to the radiator fan for secure seating and proper voltage supply.

  3. 3

Observe the fan's rotation during operation; listen for unusual noises or a complete lack of movement.

  4. 4

Ensure that the fan's air intake and exhaust vents are clear and unobstructed.

  5. 5

If the fan is found to be faulty or not operating correctly, replace the inverter radiator fan unit.
