TOOL CHANGE DETECT MACHINE LOCK

Fanuc · Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D Maintenance

What does DS0014 mean?

This Fanuc Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D malfunction prevention alarm indicates that the machine lock function is active for the Z-axis during a tool change operation. This is an unsafe condition prevented by the control.

Common Causes

  • The 'Machine Lock' function was inadvertently activated during a tool change sequence.
  • PMC ladder logic for the tool change sequence does not properly disable machine lock.
  • NC program contains a 'Machine Lock' command (e.g., G00 in machine lock mode) issued during a tool change operation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Deactivate the 'Machine Lock' function before initiating a tool change sequence on the Z-axis.

  2. 2

Review the PMC ladder logic for the tool change sequence to ensure it correctly disables machine lock during the operation.

  3. 3

Check the NC program for any 'Machine Lock' commands issued during a tool change operation that could trigger this alarm.

  4. 4

Manually jog the Z-axis (if safe) to ensure it is not stuck, and then reset the alarm.

  5. 5

Verify the status of the 'Machine Lock' input signal in the PMC diagnostics to ensure it is not active when it shouldn't be.
