- OVERTRAVEL ( SOFT 1 )

Fanuc · Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D Maintenance

What does IE0002 mean?

This Fanuc Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D malfunction prevention alarm indicates that the stored stroke check 1 on the negative side for an axis has been exceeded. This is a software limit violation.

Common Causes

  • NC program error commanding movement beyond the negative software limit 1.
  • Incorrect setting of the software limit parameter for negative stroke check 1.
  • Manual operation or jog movement exceeding the defined negative software limit 1.
  • Tool length offsets or work offsets are incorrectly applied, causing an apparent overtravel.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the NC program for coordinate values or movements that exceed the defined negative software limit 1 for the affected axis.

  2. 2

Verify the parameter setting for the negative software limit 1 for the specific axis, ensuring it is correctly configured.

  3. 3

Ensure that tool length offsets or work offsets are accurately entered and do not cause an overtravel condition.

  4. 4

In manual mode, jog the affected axis in the positive direction away from the limit, then reset the alarm.

  5. 5

Confirm that the machine's reference position (zero return) has been correctly established for the affected axis.
