SP9052

ITP FAULT 1

Fanuc · Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D Maintenance

What does SP9052 mean?

This Fanuc Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D spindle alarm indicates an abnormality in the interface between the CNC and the spindle amplifier, specifically that the ITP (Interpolation Timing Pulse) signal has stopped. This is critical for synchronized operation.

Common Causes

  • Damaged or disconnected optical fiber cable between the CNC and spindle amplifier.
  • Faulty spindle amplifier control printed circuit board.
  • Failure of the main board or sub CPU board in the CNC.
  • Electrical noise interfering with the optical communication.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the optical fiber cable connecting the CNC to the spindle amplifier for any physical damage (kinks, cuts) or loose connections.

  2. 2

Verify that the optical fiber cable is securely inserted into both the CNC and spindle amplifier modules.

  3. 3

Check the diagnostic LEDs on both the CNC and spindle amplifier for any indications related to optical communication status.

  4. 4

Perform a power cycle of the CNC and spindle amplifier to reset the interface and re-establish communication.

  5. 5

If the issue persists, replace the Spindle Amplifier control printed circuit board, or the main board/sub CPU board in the CNC if diagnostics indicate.
