Machining Interference Occurred

Fanuc · Series 0i Manual Guide

What does 3009 mean?

This P/S alarm indicates that an interference has occurred during machining, such as the tool path colliding with the opposite machining area or an existing feature. A common cause is a cutter radius being too large for the defined machining area, posing a risk of tool breakage or part damage.

Common Causes

  • Tool path intersects with a non-machined surface or fixture.
  • Simultaneous axis motion creates a collision path.
  • Programmed offset causes the tool to move into an occupied space.
  • Collision detection system activated due to programmed interference.
