Power Supply External Cooling Fan Stopped (α i PS)

Fanuc · Series 30i/31i/32i-MODEL B Plus

What does A mean?

This alarm signifies that a cooling fan for an external cooling fin on the α i PS unit has stopped. On specific models (A06B-6110-HXXX or A06B-6120-HXXX), it also indicates a stopped unit stirring fan. This can lead to inadequate cooling and potential overheating.

Common Causes

  • Cooling fan for the radiator cooling fin has stopped.
  • Unit stirring fan has stopped (specific to A06B-6110-HXXX, A06B-6120-HXXX models).
  • Loose connectors between the control printed-circuit board and power printed-circuit board due to poor installation.
  • Detached connectors between the control printed-circuit board and power printed-circuit board due to the faceplate not being pushed in fully.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check whether the cooling fan for the radiator cooling fin rotates normally and replace it if not.

  2. 2

For A06B-6110-HXXX or A06B-6120-HXXX models, check whether the unit stirring fan rotates normally and replace it if not.

  3. 3

Ensure the control printed-circuit board is properly installed, pushing the faceplate as far as it will go to secure connectors between it and the power printed-circuit board.
