Recovery overload power supply unit

What does E325 mean?

The regenerative load from the connected drives exceeds the capacity of the Indramat HVE or HVR power supply unit. This means too much energy is being fed back into the DC bus during deceleration, potentially causing overvoltage or overheating issues.

Common Causes

  • Deceleration ramps are set too aggressively, causing high regenerative power.
  • The total power regeneration capacity of the HVE/HVR power supply unit is insufficient for the application's demands.
  • Drive controller selected has an inappropriately large peak current rating for the regenerative load, leading to high energy feedback.
  • External braking resistor (if used) may be undersized or malfunctioning.
