Common Causes

  • Mains frequency exceeds permissible tolerance (± 2Hz) from the nominal system frequency.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the incoming line frequency at the input terminals of the Indramat HVR power supply unit (X1/L1, X1/L2, X1/L3) using a frequency meter or a multimeter with frequency measurement capability.

  2. 2

Verify the measured frequency is consistently within ±2Hz of the nominal system frequency (e.g., 50Hz ± 2Hz or 60Hz ± 2Hz).

  3. 3

Check the stability of the upstream power grid and the power source quality.

  4. 4

If available, review power quality logs or consult with the power utility provider regarding frequency variations or instability.
