F405

Error during phase regression

Indramat · DIAX 04

What does F405 mean?

The DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive detected an unexpected regression in its communication phase (e.g., Sercos phases). This means the drive unexpectedly reverted to an earlier communication state, indicating a loss of stable communication. This is a critical error preventing coordinated motion and results in an immediate shutdown for safety.

Common Causes

  • Sudden loss or degradation of the communication link (e.g., Sercos connection) to the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive.
  • Master controller initiated an unexpected communication reset or phase regression.
  • Faulty communication interface or hardware on the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive.
  • Severe electrical noise or interference causing transient communication errors.
  • Power instability affecting the communication module of the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the communication cable connecting the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive to the master controller for damage, looseness, or disconnections.

  2. 2

Verify the status and diagnostic logs of the master controller to see if it commanded a phase regression or experienced a fault itself.

  3. 3

Check for excessive electromagnetic interference in the control cabinet that might disrupt communication.

  4. 4

Perform a full power cycle of the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS system and the master controller.

  5. 5

If the problem continues, consider replacing the communication cable or checking the communication module on the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive for defects.
