E352

Bleeder overload warning power supply unit

Indramat · CLM01.3-M Flying Cutoff Control

What does E352 mean?

This warning indicates that 75% of the permissible ON time for the internal or external bleeder (braking resistor) connected to the Indramat HVE or HVR power supply unit has been reached. This is due to excessive regenerated power, signaling a potential for the bleeder to overheat if current operating conditions continue.

Common Causes

  • Allowable acceleration and/or deceleration rates are too high, generating excessive regenerative power.
  • The drive speed is too high, leading to larger amounts of kinetic energy to be dissipated during braking.
  • The peak current settings of the drive controllers are too high, contributing to rapid energy regeneration.
  • The braking resistor (bleeder) is undersized for the application's regenerative energy or its thermal capacity.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Reduce the allowable acceleration and deceleration parameters for the connected drives to lower the amount of regenerated power.

  2. 2

Reduce the maximum operating speed of the drives to decrease the kinetic energy that needs to be dissipated during braking.

  3. 3

Review and potentially reduce the peak current settings of the drive controllers if they are excessively high for the application's requirements.

  4. 4

Check the sizing and condition of the external braking resistor (bleeder), if applicable, ensuring it can handle the regenerative energy.
