F380

Short to ground power supply unit

Indramat · CLM01.3-M Flying Cutoff Control

What does F380 mean?

This fault indicates a ground short within the power supply unit, a connected Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive controller, the motor, or the motor cable, leading to an unsafe condition or current imbalance.

Common Causes

  • Ground short in the power supply unit itself.
  • Ground short in a connected drive controller.
  • Ground short in the motor or the motor cable.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

De-energize the power supply unit and all connected drive components, and apply lockout/tagout procedures.

  2. 2

Disconnect the motor power cables from the drive controller. Perform insulation resistance tests (megger) on each motor phase to ground and phase-to-phase, expecting resistance >1 MΩ.

  3. 3

Disconnect the power cables from the Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive controller to the power supply unit. Perform insulation resistance tests on the drive controller's output terminals to ground.

  4. 4

Systematically reconnect components one at a time, energizing between steps, to isolate the component causing the ground fault.

  5. 5

If the ground fault persists with all external connections removed, the fault is likely internal to the Indramat power supply unit, requiring its replacement.
