F384

Connection error at power supply unit

Indramat · CLM01.3-M Flying Cutoff Control

What does F384 mean?

With HVR power supply units only! This fault indicates that the power and control voltage connections are not in phase, specifically that terminals X5/U and X8/1, X5/V and X8/2, X5/W and X8/3 are conducting voltage to each other.

Common Causes

  • Power and control voltage connections are incorrectly wired or in phase with each other.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

De-energize the Indramat HVR power supply unit and ensure all power is locked out according to safety procedures.

  2. 2

Verify the wiring between the power input terminals (X5/U, X5/V, X5/W) and the control voltage input terminals (X8/1, X8/2, X8/3) for incorrect connections or cross-wiring.

  3. 3

Using a multimeter in continuity or resistance mode, check for unintended electrical connections or short circuits between X5/U and X8/1, X5/V and X8/2, and X5/W and X8/3. There should be no continuity.

  4. 4

Correct any incorrect wiring or short circuits identified between these terminal groups.
