F8078

Speed loop error

Indramat · Indradrive

What does F8078 mean?

The IndraDrive detected an excessive deviation or instability in the motor's actual speed compared to the commanded speed, indicating a problem with the speed control loop. This can result in poor motor performance, oscillations, or inability to maintain target velocity.

Common Causes

  • Incorrectly tuned speed loop parameters (e.g., gain, integral time).
  • Mechanical binding or excessive play in the motor and load system.
  • Inaccurate or noisy speed feedback from the encoder.
  • Unstable or fluctuating load on the motor.
  • Motor or drive internal fault affecting current delivery or speed measurement.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Review and carefully re-tune the speed controller parameters (e.g., S-0-0108 Velocity Control Loop Gain Kp, S-0-0109 Velocity Control Loop Integral Time Tn) according to the manual's auto-tuning or manual tuning guidelines.

  2. 2

Inspect the mechanical system for any backlash, play, or binding that could introduce instability.

  3. 3

Verify the integrity and signal quality of the motor encoder. Check for loose connections or electrical noise.

  4. 4

Ensure the load on the motor is stable and within the drive's capabilities.

  5. 5

Check for any other active faults or warnings that might be related to motor feedback or current control.
