F8203

Safety technology configuration parameter invalid

Indramat · Indradrive

What does F8203 mean?

One or more configuration parameters for the safety technology within the IndraDrive are found to be invalid or inconsistent. This prevents the safety functions from operating reliably and will typically prevent the drive from enabling or will trigger a shutdown.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect entry or corruption of safety-related parameters (e.g., S-0-0XXX Safety Function Enable, S-0-0YYY Safety Limit Values).
  • Mismatch between the safety configuration in the drive and the actual safety logic in the system.
  • Parameter values outside the permissible range for the specific safety function.
  • Firmware version incompatibility affecting parameter interpretation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Access the IndraDrive's safety parameter list and verify all safety-related parameters against the machine's safety documentation.

  2. 2

Ensure that all safety parameters are within their specified valid ranges.

  3. 3

Cross-reference the safety configuration in the IndraDrive with the programming in the higher-level safety controller.

  4. 4

Re-enter or re-load the safety configuration parameters if corruption is suspected.

  5. 5

Check for any active firmware updates or changes that might require re-validation of safety parameters.
