Abs. Encoder 1

Indramat · ServoDyn D Servo Drive

What does 23 mean?

This error occurs if the absolute encoder for Axis 1 is not properly connected, or if data transmission between the encoder and the CLM01.3-M is interrupted or corrupted. This prevents the system from obtaining an absolute position reference for Axis 1.

Common Causes

  • Absolute encoder cable for Axis 1 is disconnected, damaged, or incorrectly wired.
  • Data transmission error from the absolute encoder to the CLM01.3-M.
  • Defective Axis 1 absolute encoder.
  • Incorrect Encoder Data A1 parameter (P01) setting for the type of absolute encoder used.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify that Parameter P01 (Encoder Data A1) for Axis 1 correctly matches the specifications of the installed absolute encoder (e.g., number of bits, revolutions).

  2. 2

Inspect the physical connections of the absolute encoder cable to both the Axis 1 motor and the CLM01.3-M for secure and correct wiring.

  3. 3

Check the absolute encoder cable for any signs of damage, fraying, or loose shielding.

  4. 4

Test the absolute encoder for proper operation, potentially by checking its output signals if diagnostic tools are available.

  5. 5

If the error persists after thorough checks, consider replacing the absolute encoder or its cable.
