What does 08 mean?

An error is detected with the machine's key switch, indicating a malfunction in its electrical circuit or physical state. This is a warning only.

• Malfunction of the key switch (e.g., stuck, open, shorted contacts).
• Damaged wiring or loose connections to the key switch.
• Incorrect voltage detected on the key switch input.

   Inspect the physical key switch for any visible damage, wear, binding, or debris that might prevent proper mechanical operation.

   Check all wiring connections associated with the key switch, from the switch itself to the main control board, for looseness, corrosion, or damage.

   Verify the electrical state (e.g., continuity, voltage level) of the key switch input signal at the Kone Kone Elevator Control board, using the provided wiring diagrams, to confirm the switch signal is correctly reaching the controller.

   Confirm the correct key is being used and is fully inserted and rotated to the designated operational position according to the elevator's operating instructions.
