Key Switch Error

What does 08 mean?

An error is detected with the machine's key switch, indicating a malfunction in its electrical circuit or physical state. This is a warning only.

Common Causes

  • Malfunction of the key switch (e.g., stuck, open, shorted contacts).
  • Damaged wiring or loose connections to the key switch.
  • Incorrect voltage detected on the key switch input.

    Verify the electrical state (e.g., continuity, voltage level) of the key switch input signal at the Kone Kone Elevator Control board, using the provided wiring diagrams, to confirm the switch signal is correctly reaching the controller.

    Confirm the correct key is being used and is fully inserted and rotated to the designated operational position according to the elevator's operating instructions.
