PUMP VMN LOW

Kone · Elevator Control

What does 1028 mean?

The Pump Motor Controller (codes 1028, 2028, 3028) has detected that its VMN (motor voltage) is too low. This indicates an insufficient voltage supply to the pump motor. The specific lift reaction is controller dependent.

Common Causes

  • Low battery voltage or significant voltage drop to the pump motor.
  • Wiring issue or loose connection to the pump motor power terminals.
  • Internal power supply fault within the pump motor controller.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify incoming three-phase supply voltage to the Pump Motor Controller at the main input terminals against nominal specifications.

  2. 2

Inspect all power cabling between the Pump Motor Controller and the pump motor for damage, loose connections, or signs of overheating at connectors and terminals.

  3. 3

Measure actual voltage (VMN) at the output terminals of the Pump Motor Controller to the pump motor, and at the pump motor terminals, while the system attempts to operate.

  4. 4

Check relevant Pump Motor Controller parameters, such as motor nominal voltage, voltage limits, and motor type settings, to ensure correct configuration for the installed pump.
