CAPACITOR CHARGE

Kone · Elevator Control

What does 1060 mean?

The motor controller (codes 1060, 2060, 3060) has detected an issue with the capacitor charge process. This typically relates to the DC bus charging circuit during power-up. The specific lift reaction is controller dependent.

Common Causes

  • Failure of pre-charge circuit components (e.g., resistor, relay).
  • Excessive resistance in the DC link charging path.
  • Faulty DC bus capacitors or voltage measurement circuit.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify incoming AC supply voltage at the motor controller's input terminals against nominal values.

  2. 2

Inspect all power cabling and connections to the motor controller for looseness, corrosion, or damage, focusing on the main power input and DC bus pre-charge circuit components.

  3. 3

Measure the DC bus voltage across the appropriate terminals on the motor controller during a power-up attempt to observe the charging process.

  4. 4

Check the operation and auxiliary contacts of any pre-charge contactors or relays associated with the DC bus charging circuit.

  5. 5

Verify the motor controller's drive parameters related to power-up, DC bus pre-charge, and undervoltage thresholds against the manufacturer's specifications.
