STOP 0

Safety Stop 0

Kuka · Industrial Robots Use & Programming

What does STOP 0 mean?

A Safety STOP 0 has been triggered and executed by the safety controller. This is an immediate and uncontrolled stop where the safety controller de-energizes all robot drives and applies the brakes without a deceleration ramp. It is the highest priority safety stop.

Common Causes

  • Detection of movement during a safe operational stop (standstill monitoring violation).
  • Activation of an external safety device (e.g., safety mat, laser scanner, photoelectric curtain).
  • Internal fault detected within the safety controller hardware or software.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Identify the specific safety device or condition that triggered the STOP 0 (e.g., open safety gate, tripped safety mat).

  2. 2

Clear the triggering condition (e.g., close safety gate, remove obstruction from safety mat).

  3. 3

Acknowledge any pending safety messages on the smartPAD.

  4. 4

Re-activate robot drives through the appropriate controller interface.
