Positioning monitoring {(Axis number)}

Kuka · KSS 8.3 System Software

What does 1105 mean?

Positioning monitoring has been triggered for a specific axis. This fault indicates that the axis is not accurately reaching its target position within the expected tolerances or time. This is a regular monitoring function that may be deactivated in torque mode to accommodate larger position deviations inherent to that operational state.

Common Causes

  • The axis position monitoring function has detected an anomaly.
  • Deviation from the expected position range for {(Axis number)} during a move or dwell.
  • Positional accuracy has fallen outside the allowed tolerance on {(Axis number)}.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    Identify the specific axis number mentioned in the error message.

  2. 2

    Check the mechanical integrity of the axis, looking for excessive play in gears, backlash, or loose connections that could affect positioning accuracy.

  3. 3

    Review the motion program and path planning for the axis, ensuring target positions are reachable and motion commands are appropriate.

  4. 4

    If operating in torque mode, verify that `SET_TORQUE_LIMITS(..., monitor #off)` is configured if the regular positioning monitoring is intended to be deactivated.
