0015

OC5 I x t overload

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does 0015 mean?

This fault occurs due to frequent and excessively long acceleration processes with overcurrent, or continuous overload where the motor current (Imotor) exceeds 1.05 times the rated current (Irx). A device utilization (C0064) exceeding 100% releases a warning for this condition. The drive dimensioning may be insufficient for the application's duty cycle.

Common Causes

  • Continuous mechanical overload on the motor, causing the motor current (Imotor) to consistently exceed 105% of the motor rated current (Irx, C0091).
  • Frequent start/stop cycles or rapid acceleration/deceleration without sufficient cooling time, leading to cumulative thermal stress and Ixt accumulation.
  • Incorrectly set motor rated current (C0091) or motor nominal speed (C0092) in the drive parameters, causing the drive to misinterpret actual motor load.
  • Insufficient motor sizing for the application, where the required operating torque continuously demands current above the motor's continuous rating.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the actual motor current (e.g., with a clamp meter on a motor phase) during continuous operation and compare to the motor nameplate rated current.

  2. 2

Verify the motor rated current (C0091) and motor rated speed (C0092) parameters in the drive match the motor nameplate exactly.

  3. 3

Extend acceleration and deceleration times (C0012, C0013) to reduce peak currents during transient operations.

  4. 4

Reduce the mechanical load on the motor if possible, or consider upsizing the motor/drive system for continuous torque requirements.

  5. 5

Monitor the drive's internal Ixt accumulation value (e.g., via a diagnostic parameter, if available) to track the thermal loading trend.
