0141

ID2 (Error during motor data identification - motor too small)

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does 0141 mean?

An error occurred during motor data identification, indicating the connected motor may be too small for the drive. This can also be caused by an externally inhibited controller during the identification process, preventing proper measurement.

Common Causes

  • The connected motor's rated current (P1-02) or power (P1-01) is significantly lower than the drive's minimum recommended rating.
  • Motor's inductance is too low, causing the drive's current measurement circuitry to struggle with accurate identification.
  • Incorrect motor parameters (e.g., P1-01, P1-02, P1-03) entered into the drive, leading to an incorrect internal model.
  • External inhibit signal (e.g., safety input) is active, preventing the drive from fully executing the identification routine.
  • Motor cable length is excessively long, causing significant voltage drop and impedance, making ID difficult.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Compare the motor's rated power and current (from its nameplate) with the drive's specifications to confirm appropriate sizing.

  2. 2

Verify the entered motor parameters (P1-01 (motor rated power), P1-02 (motor rated current), P1-03 (motor rated frequency)) are accurate.

  3. 3

Ensure all drive enable inputs (e.g., terminal X3/1, if used) are continuously active (HIGH) during the entire identification process.

  4. 4

Attempt identification with an alternative motor of known compatible size, if available, to rule out a drive-specific issue.

  5. 5

If the motor is correctly sized, try adjusting any gain parameters related to current measurement (if available, e.g., P5-xx) or consult the manual for specific ID tuning.
