The drive is experiencing an I²xt overload, characterized by frequent and excessively long acceleration processes with motor overcurrent, or permanent motor overload where Imotor > Irmotor. This signals a prolonged motor overload condition.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Monitor motor current (A) and motor temperature (if sensor present) during a full operational cycle and compare to motor nameplate data and thermal limits.
2. Verify the drive's motor data parameters (e.g., C0020 for motor rated current, C0021 for motor rated voltage) accurately match the motor nameplate.
3. Increase the motor acceleration and deceleration times (e.g., C0026, C0027) to reduce peak currents during transient operations, if the process allows.
4. Inspect motor cooling fins and fan for cleanliness and obstructions. Ensure proper airflow around the motor and within its terminal box.
5. Use a clamp meter to measure actual motor phase currents for unbalance, which can indicate mechanical issues or motor winding problems.
