032

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does 032 mean?

A current-carrying motor phase has failed, or the current limit value is set too low. This can lead to irregular motor operation, reduced performance, or motor damage.

Common Causes

  • Open circuit in one of the motor phases (U, V, or W) due to a broken motor winding, faulty connection, or damaged motor cable.
  • High resistance connection at the motor terminal block or drive output terminals (U, V, W), leading to significant phase imbalance.
  • Drive output current limit (e.g., Parameter C0046) is set significantly below the motor's actual operating current, causing premature current limiting.
  • Internal drive fault in the inverter section, causing one phase output to be missing or severely attenuated.
  • Loose or corroded connections within the motor terminal box or at intermediate junction points for the motor cable.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Disconnect the motor power cables from the drive output terminals (U, V, W).

  2. 2

    2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each motor phase (U-V, V-W, W-U) at the motor terminals. Readings should be balanced within 5%. An open circuit indicates a fault.

  3. 3

    3. With the motor disconnected, measure the continuity of each motor cable conductor from the drive end to the motor end.

  4. 4

    4. Verify the drive's output current limit parameter (e.g., C0046) is set appropriately, typically at 150-200% of the motor's rated current.

  5. 5

    5. Check for loose or corroded connections at the drive's U, V, W output terminals and the motor's terminal block.

  6. 6

    6. If motor and cable are confirmed good, perform a test run with a known good motor of similar power rating, if available, to rule out a drive internal fault.
