082

Sd2

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does 082 mean?

A resolver error has occurred at terminal X7, typically indicating an interrupted resolver cable. This prevents accurate position feedback.

Common Causes

  • Break or open circuit in one or more conductors of the resolver feedback cable connected to terminal X7.
  • Poor or corroded connection at the resolver connector, terminal X7 on the drive, or within the resolver itself.
  • Damaged resolver sensor (e.g., mechanical impact, contamination, internal short) providing incorrect or no feedback signals.
  • Incorrect resolver wiring to terminal X7 (e.g., swapped sine/cosine signals, incorrect shield connection).
  • Excessive electrical noise or interference on the resolver cable causing signal corruption.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Power down and lockout the drive. Disconnect the resolver cable from terminal X7 on the drive and at the resolver end.

  2. 2

    2. Using a multimeter, check continuity of each individual wire within the resolver cable from end to end.

  3. 3

    3. Measure the resistance of the resolver windings at the resolver connector (e.g., between reference and sine, reference and cosine). Refer to the resolver datasheet for expected values.

  4. 4

    4. Inspect terminal X7 on the drive and the resolver connector for bent pins, corrosion, or loose connections.

  5. 5

    5. Ensure the resolver cable shield is properly connected to the drive's designated ground terminal and the motor frame.
