Inspect the SinCos encoder cable (e.g., connected to X8) for any visible damage, kinks, or crushing; ensure the shield is securely terminated at the device's chassis ground.
Using an oscilloscope, measure the SinCos differential signals (e.g., between SIN+ and SIN- at X8) directly at the drive input and at the encoder output to compare signal quality and amplitude.
Verify the continuity and insulation resistance of each conductor in the SinCos encoder cable (e.g., X8) to detect open circuits or shorts between wires or to shield.
Check the encoder supply voltage (e.g., +5V between X8/1 and X8/2) to ensure it is stable and free from excessive ripple which could affect signal integrity.
Re-check the mechanical mounting of the encoder to ensure it is secure, free from vibration, and correctly aligned with the motor shaft, as mechanical issues can affect signal consistency.
