H05

Internal fault (memory)

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does H05 mean?

An internal memory fault has occurred within the device. This indicates a critical internal hardware or software issue.

Common Causes

  • Corrupted firmware or parameter settings stored in the drive's non-volatile memory (e.g., EEPROM, Flash) due to power fluctuations or electromagnetic interference.
  • Failure of internal memory components (e.g., RAM, Flash) on the control board, preventing proper data storage or retrieval.
  • Power supply instability within the drive's control electronics causing intermittent memory read/write errors.
  • Exposure to excessive vibration or shock, leading to poor contact in internal connectors or damage to memory chips.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Perform a factory reset of the drive parameters (e.g., P0-00 = 2) and re-enter all motor and application-specific settings carefully.

  2. 2

Check the stability of the main power supply (e.g., L1, L2, L3) to the drive using a multimeter, ensuring it is within the specified voltage range and free from sags or surges.

  3. 3

Cycle power to the drive completely (disconnect mains, wait 5 minutes) to ensure a full hardware reset.

  4. 4

If possible, connect to the drive via diagnostic software (e.g., through a USB port) and attempt to re-flash the firmware, using the latest version from the manufacturer.

  5. 5

Inspect the drive's control board for any visible signs of damage, burnt components, or loose connections.
