Lenze · i550 Protec Drive
This fault signifies a thermal overload of the motor, typically caused by an impermissible continuous current or by frequent or excessively long acceleration processes. The drive is disabled, and the motor will coast. This fault is configurable and requires a blocking time of 5 seconds before reset.
Click steps to track your progress.
Review the application's load profile and operating cycle; reduce mechanical load if it consistently exceeds the motor's rated torque.
Verify motor nominal current (P0-12) and motor nominal power (P0-11) are accurately entered in the inverter parameters according to the motor nameplate.
Increase acceleration/deceleration ramp times (P1-10, P1-11) if the application permits, to reduce peak current demands.
Inspect the motor's cooling fan and cooling fins for obstructions, dust, or damage; clean thoroughly to ensure optimal heat dissipation.
Monitor motor surface temperature using an infrared thermometer during operation to confirm the actual thermal state.
If an external motor thermal sensor (e.g., PTC, KTY) is used, verify its connection to the inverter's input terminals (e.g., X3/XT1) and ensure its corresponding parameter (e.g., P1-33) is correctly set.
