EPM data: new PU size detected

Lenze · i550 Protec Drive

What does 0x7694 mean?

This fault indicates that the parameter settings in the memory module originate from an inverter with different hardware, for example, a different power rating. The data is loaded into RAM without modification, and while compatible, requires user acceptance.

Common Causes

  • An EPM module from an inverter with a different power rating or frame size has been inserted.
  • The EPM module contains parameter sets optimized for different hardware, but the system allows loading without immediate errors.
  • Firmware differences between the EPM's original inverter and the current inverter causing a 'new PU size' detection during parameter loading.
  • Operator error during EPM swapping, using a module intended for a different drive model.
  • The EPM module may be partially corrupted, leading to misinterpretation of hardware identification data.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Confirm that the EPM module installed is the correct one for the specific inverter model and power rating in use.

  2. 2

Backup existing parameters to a PC tool if possible, then perform a factory reset (e.g., P99.00 = 1) and re-enter all parameters manually.

  3. 3

Replace the EPM module with a new, blank one or one previously saved from the current inverter.

  4. 4

If commissioning a new setup, ensure the EPM is initialized for the installed inverter, then save parameters from the inverter to the EPM.

  5. 5

Check for any available firmware updates for the inverter that might address compatibility issues with EPM modules.
