Fault - Analog input 1

Lenze · i550 Protec Drive

What does 28801 mean?

The monitoring function for analog input 1 has been triggered, as configured via parameters 0x2636:008 (P430.08) and 0x2636:009 (P430.09). This indicates an issue with the signal connected to analog input 1, potentially an out-of-range or missing signal.

Common Causes

  • Analog input signal (e.g., 0-10V, 4-20mA) from the external sensor connected to Analog Input 1 is outside the configured limits (P430.08, P430.09).
  • Open circuit in the wiring to Analog Input 1 (e.g., a broken wire, loose terminal), causing the signal to drop below the lower threshold.
  • Short circuit or incorrect wiring to Analog Input 1, leading to a signal above the upper threshold or an invalid signal.
  • Faulty external sensor or transducer providing an incorrect or out-of-range analog signal to Analog Input 1.
  • Damage to the Analog Input 1 hardware on the drive's I/O board, preventing accurate signal interpretation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Disconnect the external signal from Analog Input 1 terminals (e.g., X3.1, X3.2) and measure the voltage or current at the terminals.

  2. 2

Measure the output voltage or current of the external sensor directly at its terminals to verify its function and output range.

  3. 3

Using a calibrated multimeter, measure the resistance of the wiring from the sensor to Analog Input 1 to detect open or short circuits.

  4. 4

Check parameters 0x2636:008 (P430.08) and 0x2636:009 (P430.09) to ensure the analog input monitoring thresholds are set correctly.

  5. 5

Apply a known, stable reference signal (e.g., 5VDC, 12mA) to Analog Input 1 to test the drive's input circuit response.
