E43

Exceeded Maximum Number of Indoor Units

Mitsubishi Electric · FR-D700 Inverter

What does E43 mean?

The maximum allowed number of indoor units connected to one outdoor unit has been exceeded, or an outdoor unit has reached its capacity limit. This leads to system communication issues and operational faults.

Common Causes

  • The number of connected indoor units exceeds the maximum supported by the outdoor unit.
  • System configuration error specifying an incorrect number of units.
  • Duplicate addresses assigned to indoor units, fooling the system into thinking there are more.
  • Controller misinterpreting the network configuration.
  • Maximum capacity limit of the outdoor unit is exceeded.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the total number of connected indoor units against the outdoor unit's specification from the manual.

  2. 2

Confirm the addressing scheme for all indoor units to ensure they are correctly recognized within system limits, and no units have duplicate addresses.
