Suction Pipe Thermistor (Tho-S) Disconnected

Mitsubishi Electric · FR-D700 Inverter

What does E53 mean?

The suction pipe thermistor (Tho-S) is disconnected, which will prevent accurate temperature readings for the suction line. This compromises the system's ability to regulate superheat and optimize refrigerant flow.

Common Causes

  • Disconnection of the suction pipe thermistor (Tho-S) wiring.
  • Open circuit fault in the suction pipe thermistor (Tho-S) sensor.
  • Faulty suction pipe thermistor (Tho-S) causing an out-of-range reading.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the suction pipe thermistor (Tho-S) and its connection for dislodgement or physical damage.

  2. 2

Measure the resistance of the thermistor to verify functionality and compare to the specified temperature-resistance chart.

  3. 3

Ensure the thermistor is correctly seated and secured on the suction pipe, making good thermal contact.
