E.OP1

Communication option fault

Mitsubishi Electric · FR E700

What does E.OP1 mean?

This communication option fault stops the inverter output due to a communication line error during CC-Link operation. It can be caused by physical cable issues, incorrect lengths, or improper termination. This disruption prevents control and monitoring via the CC-Link network.

Common Causes

  • Break or damage in the CC-Link communication cable (e.g., mechanical stress, sharp bends, incorrect type).
  • Incorrect termination resistor setting (e.g., 110 Ohm) at one or both ends of the CC-Link network.
  • Excessive cable length for the CC-Link network exceeding specification limits for the chosen baud rate.
  • Communication parameters (e.g., baud rate, station address) on the option card or master device mismatch.
  • Loose connection of the CC-Link cable to the communication option card terminals (DA, DB, DG).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify proper CC-Link cable type (shielded twisted pair) and ensure it is not exceeding maximum length specifications for the chosen baud rate.

  2. 2

Confirm termination resistors (typically 110 Ohm) are correctly installed at both ends of the CC-Link network segment.

  3. 3

Check and reseat the CC-Link cable connections at the option card terminals (e.g., DA, DB, DG) and the CC-Link master device.

  4. 4

Verify that the CC-Link station address (e.g., Pr. 120) and baud rate (e.g., Pr. 121) are correctly configured and match the master.

  5. 5

Use a CC-Link network analyzer (if available) to diagnose signal integrity and identify communication errors.
