Mitsubishi Electric · FR-A800 Variable Speed Drive (Separated Converter)
This fault indicates that the FR-A800 inverter has detected an abnormal current in its output circuit. This can signify a problem with the motor, motor wiring, or the inverter's output stage.
Click steps to track your progress.
Immediately inspect the motor power cables (U, V, W) for any signs of damage, insulation breakdown, or improper connections.
Perform an insulation resistance test on the motor windings and power cables to ground and phase-to-phase using a megohmmeter (expect >1 MΩ).
Check for any mechanical binding, blockage, or excessive load on the motor that could cause overcurrents.
Verify that the motor parameters (Pr.7, Pr.9, etc.) stored in the FR-A800 match the motor nameplate data.
If possible, disconnect the motor and run the inverter with no load (ensure no output phase loss is triggered) to determine if the fault is internal to the inverter or external.
