Mitsubishi Electric · FR-A800 Variable Speed Drive (Separated Converter)
This protective function detects an earth (ground) fault on the inverter's output side. If Pr.249 is set to '1' or '2' and an earth (ground) fault is detected at start, the output is shut off. If Pr.249 is set to '2', the reset method is restricted, preventing damage from repeated reset operations by methods other than turning off the control circuit power.
Click steps to track your progress.
Inspect motor and power cables for any signs of insulation damage, short circuits to ground, or moisture ingress.
Perform insulation resistance test on the motor windings and power cables to ground using a megohmmeter. Expected value should be >1 MΩ.
Verify the setting of Pr.249. If set to '2' and E.GF occurs, ensure the control circuit power is turned OFF to reset the fault.
Check the PWM frequency setting (Pr.72). If it is set high, consider adjusting it or ensuring the grounding system is robust.
Ensure proper grounding of the inverter, motor, and associated equipment according to installation guidelines.
