E34

L3 Low/No Current or Open Phase

Mitsubishi Electric · R410A Systems

What does E34 mean?

The current transformer (CT) on the L3 phase has detected abnormally low or no current, or an open phase has been detected at L3 on the secondary side of the main contactor. This indicates a problem with the power delivery to a component connected to L3.

Common Causes

  • Low or no current detected on the L3 power line.
  • Open phase condition on L3.
  • Faulty wiring or connector on L3.
  • Circuit breaker or fuse for L3 has tripped.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure current on all three phases (L1, L2, L3) using a clamp meter, specifically on the L3 phase after the contactor.

  2. 2

Inspect the CT sensor on L3 for proper placement and secure connection to the PCB.

  3. 3

Measure voltage between L1-L2, L2-L3, and L3-L1 on the secondary side of the main contactor.

  4. 4

Check the main contactor's L3 terminal for secure connection and proper operation.
