Initialization of internal position data was not processed correctly in Fully-closed Control Mode and Absolute Value Mode. This is similar to the internal encoder error but specific to external encoders used in fully-closed loop systems.

Verify the external encoder's power supply voltage at the encoder terminals and controller input against manufacturer specifications.
Inspect all external encoder cabling for physical damage, proper routing, secure connections, and correct shielding termination at both the encoder and controller ends.
Check Omron Sysmac Studio for correct external encoder module configuration, associated axis parameters (e.g., resolution, scaling, data format), and fully-closed loop settings.
Perform a controlled power cycle of the Omron NJ/NX controller and associated servo system to force a fresh re-initialization of all connected devices.
