F64

AC Overload L1

Schneider Electric · XW Pro NA Operation Guide

What does F64 mean?

This Escalating Automatic Fault occurs due to an excessive load specifically on AC output line 1. If triggered 3 times in 5 minutes, it becomes a manual fault, indicating that line 1's capacity is being consistently exceeded.

Common Causes

  • Unbalanced load distribution, with too many high-power devices connected specifically to AC output Line 1.
  • Short circuit or ground fault on AC output Line 1 wiring or a device connected to it.
  • Failure of an internal current sensing circuit specific to Line 1 within the inverter, leading to false overload detection.
  • Significant inrush current from a large load on Line 1 upon activation, exceeding transient capacity.
  • Internal power component (e.g., IGBT, MOSFET for L1 phase) degradation leading to reduced current handling capability.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Measure the current on AC output Line 1 at the inverter terminal using a clamp meter and compare it to currents on other lines (L2, L3 if applicable).

  2. 2

    2. Redistribute loads across different AC output lines to balance the current draw on Line 1.

  3. 3

    3. Isolate individual loads connected to Line 1 by disconnecting them sequentially to identify the specific faulty or oversized load.

  4. 4

    4. Inspect wiring and connected devices on AC output Line 1 for insulation breakdown, loose connections, or short circuits.

  5. 5

    5. Review inverter's overload trip settings for individual phases (e.g., P2-12 'L1 Overload Current Limit') and adjust based on actual load and inverter specifications.
